Finish it Friday

I finished a few things today.
Finished binding this baby quilt. The little boy was born today :)

Made a little hipster purse for my niece out of my brother's (her dad's) uniforms. My daughter picked out all the crazy colors

Made a messenger bag for my Sister in law out of my brother's uniforms

Under the flap, used one of the pockets off the uniform

Matching coin purse

Matching makeup bag

There were all made from scraps left over from a quilt I am making him with his old uniforms. I still need to work a little more on that : )

Loopy Line

Here is a baby quilt I made for a friend of my husband's, who is expecting any day now, and used loopy line on the rows.

WIP Wednesday

Today I almost finished a baby quilt I started yesterday for a friend of my husband's. His wife is about to have a little boy. I'm not sure I like the binding, it's white and the sashing of the quilt is an off white, I should have made my own binding, but I hate that step for some reason......

My little helper :)

This is my daughter's quilt which is the same pattern as the one above. I used Twirl by me and my sister and I think it is so cute. It only needs binding.
I started cutting the "Bricks" for my brother's quilt last night. I am using his old military uniforms. I haven't decided how to use patches and buttons and other things.

These are the fat quarters I am using along with his old BDUs, some of the bricks also

I bought some fabric about 3 months ago (mind you my daughter was already 3 months by then) I found it on ebay, My sister and me TWIRL, so cute! Anyways, this last weekend I decided I better get to work, before my baby doesn't need a baby quilt anymore. Here it is. Just needs binding.

Signature/T-shirt quilt

So a little Background on this project. The school I teach at closed this past week, and the students and most of the teachers will be relocated to the larger HS in town. Our principal will not be a principal with us anymore, so in my infinite wisdom, decided to make a signature quilt for all the seniors to sign.

To make sure all the seniors got a chance to sign, I got with the Senior English teacher and she let me know that the office staff wanted to make a t-shirt quilt for her and for the staff to sign, so I got conned into making that one. They told the Principal they needed shirts to donate so she brought in all her school t shirts. I used the t-shirt quilt for the back and had the staff sign it.

I decided to also make mini signature quilts for the two assistant principals.

I used bone print and paw print as much as I could because our mascot is the bulldogs. They really turned out good. I did an overall free motion stipple. When I gave it to her, she cried, it was very touching. She also decided she would like to hang it on the wall, so I went back and added some hanging loops at the top so she could and she can reverse it if she would like to.
