Signature/T-shirt quilt

So a little Background on this project. The school I teach at closed this past week, and the students and most of the teachers will be relocated to the larger HS in town. Our principal will not be a principal with us anymore, so in my infinite wisdom, decided to make a signature quilt for all the seniors to sign.

To make sure all the seniors got a chance to sign, I got with the Senior English teacher and she let me know that the office staff wanted to make a t-shirt quilt for her and for the staff to sign, so I got conned into making that one. They told the Principal they needed shirts to donate so she brought in all her school t shirts. I used the t-shirt quilt for the back and had the staff sign it.

I decided to also make mini signature quilts for the two assistant principals.

I used bone print and paw print as much as I could because our mascot is the bulldogs. They really turned out good. I did an overall free motion stipple. When I gave it to her, she cried, it was very touching. She also decided she would like to hang it on the wall, so I went back and added some hanging loops at the top so she could and she can reverse it if she would like to.

New Quilt

I just started a new ultra secret quilt yesterday. I have had this quilt in mind for a while, I just couldn't decide how I was going to do it. I knew I wanted to make a picture quilt with bandana fabric. I recently purchased an accuquilt go and found the tumbler die, I fell in love  :)   I purchased printable fabric by June Taylor and I like it so far. I printed 23 pictures and cut them out with my tumbler die and also cut out my bandana fabric on the tumbler die. I have pieced all 13 rows now I just need to sew the rows together. I am really moving along on this one  :) I will post pictures when I am done and it gets to its new owner, who has no idea that she is even getting a quilt  :)

WIP -
Butterfly quilt for my daughter - Need backing and quilting but I am not sure how to quilt it.
Rag quilt for my niece - I have only cut the fabric
Deer quilt for my husband - Needs borders, backing and quilting
Tumbler picture quilt for .... :) - Need to piece rows together and quilt
T-shirt quilt which will likely never get done because it is HUGE!! and I am scared to try to quilt it on my machine.

I decided to do a block of the month project from stitch in heaven called "Blessings of Spring" which starts this month on the 20th!! So excited.

Quilt ideas on the brain -

Just purchased a new layer cake - Going to try the "double slice" I saw on Missouri star quilt co - Really cute and easy to sew with no waste.

Just purchased a jelly roll of Christmas (I know it's March) I am going to make "string" quilted Christmas stockings!

I have alot of projects or ideas right now. It seems like so many more now that it is on paper.

Snai trail / Butterfly Quilt

This is my first attempt at a snail trail, it turned out pretty cute.

The pink in the first pic and the purple in the second pic are more like the true colors.

I used my accuquilt to cut out all the pieces.

Here is my pieced butterfly quilt. I just need to add the two borders and the quilt away! Going to work on that tomorrow!!

Quilt Along progress with Leah Day

I have only recently joined up with the Quilt along but I was able to practice my quilting this past Saturday. Here are some better pictures of my stippling practice.
1/2 yard cloth stippled all over
Stipple and clover from Leah's book :)

I have only practiced on this one piece so far, but I recently finished a Quilt as you go Quilt. It is a type of rag quilt I found in a magazine. You piece 8 triangles into a square and cut out a large circle from that. I quilted the circle onto a background block and the batting and backing on every other square. The other squares either had a double heart or an X because I got lazy and the heart was a little hard for me  :) I wasn't sure I would ever finish if I kept going at the pace I was. It will be a wedding gift for my little brother in a week and a half. :)

The quilt I am currently working on is an applique butterfly quilt for my daughter. I plan on stippling in the blue and stipple/clover in the pink sashing and probably on the border.

I can't wait to finish piecing and get to quilting, but I have a busy few weeks ahead so I imagine it will be a while. :(

First 2 quilts

This was my Very first quilt. I made it from charms and jelly rolls I found at Walmart. That is my daughter in front, its her quilt. The piecing is awful, the stitch is awful and too far apart. BUT, she doesn't know the difference and matter of fact neither does anyone else that will ever see it  :)

The back is monkeys! I love it!!

This is a quilt I made for my Nephew Cooper before he was born. It was my 2nd quilt.

Here is one of the 12 butterflies that I made for my daughter's quilt. I plan on trying some stippling in the blue space..... I am kind of scared to mess it up.
